10 Days from Casablanca – Desert Tracks

This 10 day desert tour will start from Casablanca through the Sahara desert. Passing through the imperial cities and the oldest track of the Paris-Dakar Rally.

Day 1: Arrival at the Airport – Visit Casablanca

After meeting at the airport, we will start this 8 days tour through the historical heritage of Morocco’s largest city, Casablanca. We will explore some of the city’s landmarks such as the largest mosque of Hassan II and the coastal “Corniche”, overnight in a hotel.

Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Fes

Today. We start our tour to Fes. The road to Fes takes us along a beautiful stretch of farmland, where olives, grains, vegetables and grapes are grown.You will stop in at Volubilis and Meknes on your way to Fes. . It is the sight of the famous Roman ruins remaining from the southernmost outpost of the Roman Empire. Meknes has the Medersa Bou Inania and the Bab Mansour, the gateway to the Palace of Moulay Ismail. This leads to the Henri es-Souani, the horse stable and barns. Upstairs there is a roof garden and a cafe with a great view of the city. We arrive in Fez, accommodation in a charming riad.

Day 3: Full Day in Fez.

Exploration day with a local guide, exploring the attractions of Fez the ancient imperial city of Morocco. The tour starts at the gate of the Royal Palace and the Jewish Quarter, you will have the opportunity to visit the pottery cooperative to see traditional Moroccan handicrafts. Then, it will take you through the narrow streets of the Medina to the tanners. The renowned Al Karaouine University is among the locations of historical and cultural interest that are highlighted on this tour. In the afternoon, we will take you to admire the panoramic view over the Medina, and visit the new city or the new Fez. Overnight in a charming Riad.

Day 4: Fes – Midelt.

Today, after breakfast, we leave for the Middle Atlas Mountains; a fresh, green and leafy alpine style village, built by the French elite to their European taste. We continue to the cedar forest, where birdsong creates a musical backdrop for the unfailingly attentive and curious gaze of the Barbary monkeys, who live in the forest. Ifrane National Park is the largest in Morocco and we will be able to contemplate the incredible trees, Atlas Gouraud cedars over 100 years old, large majestic and imposing oaks, famous in the Atlas for their imposing age and obscuring the road creating a mysterious atmosphere. As we continue towards Midelt, the Middle Atlas unfolds and offers truly spectacular scenery, with its nomadic villages scattered along the way, overnight in Midelt.

Day 5: Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

Departure from Midelt to the desert of Merzouga, we will pass through the Tizi-n-Talghemt pass and the Ziz valley.which is famous for its palm palms and the length of the oasis in particular . Along the way, there are countless ksars, small villages of individual houses. From here, we reach Erfoud, famous for its festival of dates and fossils. Then, we continue to Merzouga, we will visit Khamlia, a truly unique Gnawa village, here we will have lunch break, we eat Berber pizza accompanied by tea and a very complete rice salad. Just before reaching the dunes of Merzouga, where you will meet your camel guide to ride through the dunes to the Haimas. You will spend the night under the starry sky.

Day 6: Merzouga Dunes – Ouzina – Ramlia – Tafraout desert.

You will wake up early to enjoy the sunrise at the top of the dunes. After these joyful moments, you will ride endromedaries back, the route will start crossing some very diverse landscapes, we will take the road through dry sand rivers, mud villages, On the way, we will visit nomadic families. And dry lakes until we reach the desert of Tafraout: a magnificent place, accessible only by off-road tracks, Overnight in a hotel.

Day 5: Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

Departure from Midelt to the desert of Merzouga, we will pass through the Tizi-n-Talghemt pass and the Ziz where the length of the oasis and the presence of palm trees are particularly notable features. .Along the way, there are countless ksars, small villages of individual houses. From here, we reach Erfoud, famous for its festival of dates and fossils. After breakfast, transfer to Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca for your return flight,
